  • Smemorina - The Girl Who Had A Dream

    Fiona Shaw

Paperback (Independently published, Oct. 10, 2019)
Smemorina was a cat who lived at Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary in Rome. She was loved by all who met her and was instantly recognisable. Touching the hearts of many around the world she grew her own fan base and part of her charm was her love for running water. She would run as fast as she could at the sound of running water to be the first to taste it. No one knows where this passion for running water came from and why but it made her irresistible. Smemorina was gifted her own little fountain one day and this story was written firstly for a video posted on our Facebook group and now a book to capture her charm forever. We wrote her story as a big adventure for Smemorina as she visited all of the fountains in Rome. The shelter looks after 130 cats and many of whom are disabled, blind, deaf or with less than 4 legs. They provide a home for life for all their cats who do not find a forever home and also work hard to provide sterilisations around Rome to help keep the feral cat population down and limit the suffering of other cats born into harsh conditions. They operate solely through donations and the profits from this book go to Torre Argentina to help them continue their vital work.
